Our children's Spider Club activities are all about getting youngsters involved with nature. Due to the popularity of the Spider Club and the need to keep the group size manageable, there are limited new places and sometimes a waiting list. Please contact the warden for more details.
The Spider Club events are once a month throughout the year on Saturday mornings. See below for dates.

Below are some examples of our Spider Club Activities to give you an idea of what we do.
The Spiders checked out their new raised beds. Emptied the moth trap. Had a close encounter with a Maybug (Cockchaffer). Finally they finished preparing the nature bingo quiz for Celebration Day.
The Spiders took down the nesting material bottles and checked what had been used, the fur was most popular. They checked out the new story telling area and emptied the moth trap. Finally the made a start on preparing the nature bingo quiz for Celebration Day.
Busy Session today! The Spiders checked under the boards, checked the nesting material bottles, checked the moth trap. Got some smashing new T Shirts from Denso Marston Co Ltd. Weeded the wildflower and herb beds and hung out their frozen nature popsicles.
The Spiders made nest material bottles using different material (wool, paper,fur etc) and hung them in the trees. They collected materials from the ground to make nature popsicles.
The Spiders planted a lot of trees today which we had received from the Woodland Trust. They did a bird survey by putting out seed, apple and cheese and noting down what the birds liked. the cheese was not very popular. Finally they created a spider web on the wall where they can put their art work.
